Here are some responses from visitors taking
part in the monthly poll:
- Little Dorrit is extremely dull.
- I read Dickens because he represents the ideal
writer to me; his works are not only classics but a bunch of intellectual
foods.
- I love his complex vocabulary
- He is a talented author but his stories often
cannot keep my attention because they are long and drawn out.
- To live is to read a book by Charles Dickens
- No one presently writes or ever will write like
Dickens.
- It is very boring and hard to understand.
- I read Dickens for the history of England
- I have two favorite authors, and Charles Dickens is
one. (Jane Austen is the other.)
- An individual can never read enough of the classic
novels whether they were written by Dickens or another author!
