And here are some comments from people who participated in the
poll:
Regarding The Muppet Christmas Carol:
- GO MUPPETS, GO MUPPETS
- Gotta' love the Muppets
- It brings together the entire family in a setting understandable
for children and humorous for adults with memorable characters.
- Charles Dickens had a very out of the box perspective!
Regarding the 1999 version with Patrick Stewart:
- I love all these versions, but seeing Mr. Stewart live gives his
version the edge. Not only a tour de force, but the adaptation was
definitely satisfying as well.
- Stewart captures the spirit of Dickens' work.
Regarding the 1984 version with George C. Scott:
- I feel this version, conveys on film, the "spirit" of Dickens writing.
The setting, fashions, and delivery are true and work in tandem with the
language of the author's era. The actors do a fine job in evoking all the
emotions the respective characters.
Regarding the 1970 version with Albert Finney:
- most believable scrooge, some great songs
Regarding the 1951 version with Alastair Sim:
- I like this one because it was the version with which I grew up.
Other versions of the movie that our visitors liked:
- I liked the Flintstone version of the Christmas Carol.
