On Monday I told you about the mixed results I had with the WordPress automatic upgrade. Since then I’ve upgraded two other blogs and had no problem. My site was the only blog where the upgrade didn’t work. In the end, I upgraded this site manually. It was a disappointment, but it’s no small thing that the upgrade worked on every other blog.
I still need to find an easy way for clients to FTP to their sites and backup the files. Once I’ve found an answer to that problem, I’m going to recommend that all my clients upgrade to WordPress 2.7.1. They’ll get all the benefits of the new functionality, a safer system and most of them will be able to do future upgrades by themselves.
